Marco Schifano

From 1 October 2014 to 21 March 2015, Milan’s Studio Giangaleazzo Visconti (in Corso Monforte, 23) will be hosting an exhibition of the works of Marco Schifano (Rome, 1985).

Although he works with the tools of photography – equipment that has accompanied him ever since his infancy – Schifano himself proceeds along a path of traditional manual skills, rather like an Italian Old Master from the days of the Renaissance or a Flemish painter, piecing the scenes that are destined to attract his attention together with obsessive precision.

Although they hover on the threshold between photography, film editing and painting, these images also address the mechanisms of theatrical dramatisation and represent both the artist’s personal subjectivity and the aspiration to objectivity intrinsic to each of their details.

Opening hours: Monday - Friday, 11.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.; 3.00 – 7.00 p.m..
